I dropped Nosler a note asking when 280 AI brass would again become available. Their response: "We should be shipping more 280AI brass in 3-4 weeks if all goes to plan". Cool... CP.

That's what Amazon and other suppliers have shown for backorder time. But, backorders get filled first, so hopefully they are going to run plenty.

Thanks for the update. I just purchased my first 280 AI and was worried about that. I did find 4 boxes of Nosler 140 in Ackley at my LGS luckily to get me started.

Yep. Ordered some immediately after getting the "product arrival notification" last night.

Timing is everything-Midway, in less than 24 hours, has already sold out their inventory of 280 AI brass. Thankfully, I did not hesitate this time around and have three boxes on the way. CP.

Gosh I remember finding two boxes in Bass Pro. Talked the manager into taking 15% off the $49.99 price because "Nobody shoots the 280AI".....that was two years ago. Never get that deal again.

Cabelas has it now

The CF seems enchanted with cartridges requiring scarce, limited run brass; and exotic powders showing stellar performance but essentially unavailable. Kind of like exotic scotch or cocaine.

Reminds me of the Bitterroot Bonded Core trading that went on in the 1980's.Even had John Wooters back here in New England one weekend. He cut a deal with a buddy for 2 pounds of MRP for his 7 Rem Mag and 280. smile

Having played this game a couple of decades ago, I decided I was far better off just getting normal cartridges or at least those for which brass was a piece of cake to obtain.

Who needs the scarce supplies and drama? confused

I know...Im a curmudgeon. grin
