I have one in 350 mag and man it is finicky.

Has anyone seen one that was a tack driver because I never have!

I have one in 6.5. It is a pretty fair shooter.

I had one in .350 RM Topped with a 4X Weaver that shot under an inch for 3 shot groups at 100 yards with the 200 grain Hornady SP and VVN140.

Friend had one for several years before he had to sell it because of some financial problems... Shot 220 Speer FPs into an inch at 100...he killed three black bear with it before selling... The factory 200s shot just about as well...

What is your gun shooting? I have four .350s and all will do .75-1.5 moa...

I have one in 6.5 Mag that shoots sub-MOA with 120 BT's, the only bullet I have shot through it due to how well it shot.

I can only get the 225 Sierra to do about 1" with TAC so far.
I really thin that vent rib might be messing with barrel harmanics

I had one in .350 that shot pretty well. It wasn't sub moa or anything but at least 1 1/2".

...you're complaining about 1-MOA with a .35 caliber short to medium range fairly hard kicking big game rifle?

At 400 yards the shooter may not connect with a deer but it isn't going to be the rifle/loads fault..

I don't think you are being realistic...

My 350 RM WILL PUT 250 grain Hornady SP's and Speer Hot cores with H4895 and WW748 into about.5".
The rifle is picky though almost any other powder and or bullet the groups are not so good.

I have one in .308 and its the most accurate rifle I own. It shoots moa with Nosler 165gr AB's.

Fotis,

I never gave the rib a thought on possibly affecting harmonics. The first thing I did when I got the rifle is take the rib off then go shooting....

maybe a fluke, but this was on a target somebody left on the 200 yd. line that I 'recycled'... rifle is a 673 that has been de-ribbed and FL bedded into a McMillan.

That's the type of accuracy I get with my 350. But only with particular loads.
Before I went to Wyoming two weeks ago, I pulled out a couple of elk hunting rifles the 350 was one of them. I just shot three shots to ensure it was sighted in. All three were touching. That load was 250 grain Hornady SP and a full load of H4895.
I had intended on taking another rifle but decided this "carbine" would do just fine.

I have 3 of them.....My .350 was purchased used....and someone obviously had tuned the trigger a little. This rifle regularly turns in groups of 2.15" - 2.3" at 340 yards. This is the max distance on my home range. Groups at 100 run .75-.8" I removed the rib and front sight. Handloads with 200 gr Hornady over TAC. with 200gr TSX the groups open a shade....but if I were after something tough at distance it's what I'd use...2925 FPS is pretty easy.

Next one is a 6.5....I took the rib off it....and the first medium load with a 125 Partition @ 2900 repeatedly went .75" @ 100 so I stopped there and took it hunting. It needs some work with 120 Bt's and 130...someday.

Third one is a .300 SAUM new in the box never fired. I will probably never live long enough.....lol.

I sorta like 'em. Small volume production...Mine seem to be well put together.

NICE groups guys...guess one can have a Varmint Class .350...

Interesting that some have trouble with the .350 RM. I have a m673 that's easily one of the most accurate and easy to load for rifles I own. I pretty much have settled on 225 grain Nosler partition bullets for everything.

I am not questioning the chambering guys. Just the 673 WITH the rib on......

Understood, I never fired any of mine without taking the rib off first...fearing the effect of it on the barrel. Even with the rubber O rings I always felt the screws had to impart some stress. When plugging the holes I didn't snug the plug screws...just left them loose with a drop of locktite.

Hope this helps...

ok thanks
Posted By: Cougarz Re: 673 Remington rifle? - 10/20/16
Mine is as issued with the rib. It's very accurate. I personally would worry about the rib, it's likely something else that causing your problems.
Posted By: Fotis Re: 673 Remington rifle? - 10/21/16
Great to hear! What are you shooting?
Posted By: LJB3 Re: 673 Remington rifle? - 10/25/16
This is with 225 grain A frames. It shoots 250 grain Hornady round noses and Spire points just as well with a different P.O.I. All loaded with R-15 powder. Oh, and that is a five shot group!

If mine shot like that I would be doing cartwheels!!!
Posted By: LJB3 Re: 673 Remington rifle? - 10/26/16
It took a little experimentation to get there handloading wise but was totally worth it! The Remington box was for reference to caliber only. However that factory ammo still held just over one inch at a hundred yards.

60 gr rl15?

I have both of them and the .350 is one of the most accurate rifles I own. The 6.5 is above average. I can look up my handloads I made if you want the recipe. All I did to either of them was lighten up the triggers. The .350 shoots everything I have fed it very well. Maybe your bedding needs a little TLC.
