Looking through past posts on Forbes rifles, there's seems to be some rumors and confusion that Barrett is going to produce Forbes rifles in the future.

As it stands Barrett simply owns the Forbes name. They have no right to produce the rifle itself.

So the press releases are BS or premature?

Melvin claims all they own is the copyright to use the Forbes name. Not his rifle design.

By the looks of the links provided those rifles don't look like a NULA

Strange, they don't look to be using the name. I handled a couple of the pre production rifles and the stocks sure seemed like the Forbes, but I didn't compare them side by side. Action/bolt were a little different (and ss), but somewhat similar.

They have already missed the fall hunting season.

I couldn't care less if they use the Forbes name or design as long as they can produce a light weight quality rifle.

It seems to me that if they can compete with Melvin as to quality and do it for $1000 less,he has good reason to do his best to distinguish his rifles as somehow different.

Looks like Forbes doing it again, Wanting his cake... And eating it too..

He's allowed Colt, Forbes Rifles, and now Barrett to have a sniff, then slammed the door.

A bit funny when you think about it. 😜
