So I finally got to shoot my RAR that was all over the place with Core-Lokt ammunition. I fired 2 at 25 yards and they were touching and dead center. I moved it back to 100 yards shot two groups of three and they were all within an inch????????? All I can say is that shooter error had to have been the problem, as Skane said it best, "it ain't the gun"! So now I can go forth merrily seeking Mule deer on Nov. 16th. Thanks for all of your advice!
The more you shoot the less "shooter error" there will be, so you might want to expend more than 8 rounds before the buck of a lifetime presents himself.
What changes were made? Ammo at least I'm guessing..?
RH- Not to worry, I expend tons of rounds of rimfire in the off season to keep sharp, but you are right more time with a centerfire would be preferred.
Certifiable- I switched from Hornady GMX to Remington Core-Lokt, nothing else.
I am certain it was me.
Now THERE'S a FIRST!
Glad it's working' for ya. Good luck on your hunt.

Glad you took that in the spirit in which it was meant. Good luck on your upcoming hunt.

On second thought...don't.
