Well I got my Rem 700 CDL SF.. Bought the Lupy V6 2x12 chosen by the 24Campfire... Thank You guys,good call..

My buddy did a trigger job on my Ruger 77 in the early 90s.. It is the proverbial 2.5 glass rod..

Now the Rem trigger is "adjustable".. I have the screw out so I feel it protruding and still don't like it.. I have to get a new trigger.. Any suggestions on a trigger for the Rem 700 CDL.. I just can't live without a great trigger..

I've used timney, jewell & Neil jones. All three are good with the jewell being the best. I've heard good things about the trigger tech but haven't used one.

I've used several Timney triggers in the past and have had good luck with them. They adjust easily and break clean.

Having said that, I personally have older model 700 triggers in all my 700 rifles. The older version (Mike Walker) trigger is an excellent trigger if tuned correctly. I have a 40X trigger in my 25.06 CDL and it is by far my favorite trigger.

Member "805" on our boards does an excellent job with 700 triggers. He often sells them in batches in our classifieds. I like his tuned trigger over the Timney it replaced. That said, I would try one of the new Trigger Tech unit just based off of everyone's recommendations.

^^^^^... Unless I am mistaken the factory trigger shoe has broken in the past since it is a mim part with a hole thru it for the adjustment screw

Sounds like you have the Xmark Pro Trigger...a REAL POS...

I personally yank them out and replace with the old style Remington " Walker" triggers....

I don't - I advise customers to find another (read: "any other") trigger for a Rem 700.

I have a build going on right now that will have the Triggertech unit...and I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs..

I've used Timney, Jewell, Rifle Basix and Shilen of various flavors. Jewell has the best feel but can be finicky if a primer is pierced. Rifle Basix has to be the biggest POS in that mine developed creep after 1000 rounds of shooting. This creep could not be tuned out of the trigger.

If I had to choose today on a good trigger for a hunting rifle, it would either be a Timney 510 (with a thin shoe) or a Shilen.

I replaced mine with a Timney based on some of my hunting buddies suggestions. I am very pleased with it and it was easy to put in.

My CDL wears a Timney 510 with the wide blade. It is a very good trigger and made in the USA (not Canada).

I'm interested in hearing some reports on their AR triggers.

When I posted that they were $123.99 on sale at brownell's, now they're $139. I'm sure they'll go back on sale sometimes.

From what I understand,you can buy a different weight pull spring and fix that crappy trigger.I've had very good luck adjusting the older X-Pro down to 2 1/2 - 2 3/4lbs.But the external adjustment trigger just has a sorry spring making the trigger pull very inconsistent.Here is the link on the replacement spring.
