G2 -
I have owned a Nosler 48 for several years.
Simple, quality, well designed rifle. The 48 to
me seems similar to Sako and as smooth. Lighter
calibers that use Sportster barrels to me need more
weight forward. Living in Bend Or. I get my hands on
them a lot and for sure the magnum barrels which the
28 utilizes feel most balanced. Not being converted to
the Nosler calibers yet when I do the 28 seems the most
compelling.Nosler warranty is great as is their technical staff.
Let us know if you go for it.
Thank you Draftmule. I have always preferred the 7mm /
.284 round as you have a ton of choices in regards to bullet weight and manufacture. Glad to hear you are a fan of Nosler 48, looks like it would be a do all, be all rifle for most anything in N/A. You are sure pushing a lot of powder. Do you think a muzzle Break is something to consider? Thanks for the reply.

Just talking balance - that depends on how your rifle specs fit your
body.I have no Idea the push of the Nosler 28 cartridge.I believe the N28s are all built on 25-26 inch barrels which I love but not sure about you. My 48 270 WSM was built on the lighter 24" sporter barrel It was too much of a mountain rifle set up for me and I considered all kinds of weight forward options.I got it right for me with a Witt Machine Co. bolt on Muzzle brake.A lot of powder in the 28.Pretty sure it would be a mistake to cut any of the original 25-26 inch barrel. So it is going to be long with any brake. You might consider trying it with out first.I would not buy a Nosler rifle with out trying how one fits, they are different. As we speak Noslers Shooteres Pro Shop has perhaps 15 to 20 of various new rifles one can get your paws on. With that said their techs are some of the best. Call Nosler Offices and ask for Mike. You may be able to describe to him a favorite rifle and I am fairly sure he can be a big help.

I have Nosler 48 (Heritage) in 300 WSM. It's my favourite at the moment and has better wood and trigger than my Sako 85 etc. I would buy another in a heatbeat.
Thanks guys I appreciate your advice, and experience with the Nosler 48. I am going to try and find one locally so I can get my hands on one, and see how it fits me. Again, thanks for your reply's.
