I couldn't keep seeing the Model Seven Predator models listed for such low prices and not try one out. Ended up ordering one in 243 "for my wife" since it's a caliber I don't currently own. Going to mount a Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44 on it. Supposed to get delivered to my FFL on Friday, can't wait!

I like mine

You will not be disappointed. One of the best rifles out there IMO. If you reload, try some 85 grain Sierra Gameking HPBT's. I have yet to see a 243 that didn't like them.

I want one too!
Good decision. You won't be disappointed, except in the durability of the trigger.

Are they out there for less than the $470-$480 I see them for on gunbroker? Wasn't sure if that was a deal

And maybe the bolt handle... wink
Coyote Hunter - +1 on that. Had it happen on a M700 and M600. Real funny feeling in the pit of your stomach
when the bolt handle breaks off in your hand (and I'm NO a hulk type guy). Both Remington fixed at no charge
BUT why did it happen in the first place? Had the problem only with Rem's - no other brand. Homesteader
What bullet you planning to run?

While I don't own any Remington 700 variants, it's easy to see the attraction. If it was a good shooter and fit me, it would be worth having the bolt handle TIG welded for peace of mind (if nothing else) and enjoy.
I will decide I want one after they are all sold out.

LOL, this is usually what happens to me!

I already have a few LVSF'S that I enjoy, this should feel pretty similar and at the current price if I'm not happy with it down the road I should be able to get most of my money back out of it.

I have a couple of the Model 7 Predators, and an LVSF. Similar, but the LVSF is a lot smoother action. Both shoot good, and that's what matters.

First I've heard of this but just like you said, if it shoots good that's what really matters.

The LVSF's being stainless, just have a much smoother feel to the action than the Predators do. I have 2 Predators, both 223's. One I've had ever since the Predator model was introduced, and I've shot it a lot. It's as accurate as a right-out-of-the-box rifle could ever be, as far as I'm concerned. The newer Predator has only been shot a few times, but is accurate as well. However, the trigger and action are not quite as good as Predator number one. My LVSF is in 243, and it's a good shooter as well, and actually has a better "feel" to me than the Predators do. But, any of them are a good choice for shooting.
Should be picking mine up tomorrow, can't wait!
Picked it up and a set of Talleys. Will be getting it set up over the next couple days.

Feels good in the hand.
Stainless is much "grabbier" than CM. Seldom is it smoother without a bit of work, but any 700/Seven can be easily slicked up. They are designed with a bit of that Remington slop...
