I like hunting grouse so to protect the nesting birds I was forced to defend them this morning with my late father in laws .243 pump using 85 gr Nosler Solid base. The cat was in my bird feeder pigging out on microwave popcorn that was past it's expiration date.
Now the cat is past his expiration date.
Nice kitty!

I've been known to get rid of a few strays with the trsuty old Benjamin .22 pellet rifle

Keep up the good work. Even public radio admitted that outside cats are a threat to birds.
Do your duty.
They used to print a message on the back of hunting licenses in Maryland about it being a good thing to shoot feral cats. I've popped more than a few.

When we lived out in the country, I regularly shot feral cats that came around our farmstead. Unfortunately for the cats, people from Omaha would take their unwanted cats to the country and drop them off to make it on their own. They weren't too successful competing head to head against 'cats, coyotes, foxes, and raptors.

When I was still a farm manger, I had an old Savage 24 22 mag over 20 ga bouncing around in the back of my pick up that shot enough feral cats and groundhogs to fill a dump truck.

Twice.

Feral cat season closes?
Posted By: gemby58 Re: Feral cat season opener - 03/31/16
I have my share of people dropping off cats on my farm. I went out and bought red collars for my cats and the ones that don't have one on use up there 9 lives with a good case of lead poisoning.
I have some feral cats around my place. The only reason why I have given them a pass is they have not produced any kittens in two years. One day they will be meeting the Bmag.

Killed a spirited little kitty with a backhoe bucket once. He'd been getting in my convertible at night. Twas a fighter that one.

no season around my place......usually a 223...300 BLK

or 17M2.....whatever the target suggests....

One of these three is usually handy

They kill an estimated 2 billion song birds a year. They are a really big problem. Feral all kinds of stuff is. I have shot my share of cats, dogs and mostly feral horses. Never have shot a feral hog.
