I've tried to kill 10 coyotes in a row without a miss . Never have made it -got to nine when I lived in Idaho and missed. Then made it back up to seven and missed an 80-90 yard offhand shot , I was walking the foxpro out and a coyote stood up from sleeping in a rock outcropping .

Back here in florda I got up to two and missed the third running through the trees to the call -with a shotgun -no less cry.

This year I'm going to make it -plan on calling every weekend if possible and using a shotgun to claim "I killed 10 in a row" .
Anybody ever pull off a good run of not missing a coyote or other predator ? How many in a row was your best ?
Good question.. I don't call much anymore.. Most of my shots are at moving animals or long range stationary..

I would like to see what Scenarshooter has to say...
Ive killed more than 10 foxes in a row calling. Never counted....
I never miss since I retired and took up trapping....
Yeah I'd like to hear Scenarshooters number if he sees this .

What do you shoot fox with Ingwe ?

Fieldgrade -you are a better trapper than me then !
I'm not much of a trapper but my accuracy is pretty dang good at 3-4 feet.... smile
That went right over my head Fieldgrade -I thought you meant your trap sets never miss .. Gotcha -close range shooting at its finest .
I have shot close to 40 in a row with a shotgun without missing. My first miss came as a surprise because it was a standing coyote at 30 yards. I saw the dust fly and he ran off. I looked at my empty and realized that I had somehow loaded a slug! I could have hit him with the slug had a known and aimed different but I didn't.

Can't claim 10 in a row with a rifle as I always take a crack at the running one!

I'm not so sure it went over your head....more likely a pitiful attempt at humor on my part.... frown
5 years ago I went 27 in a row with my 204 and 35 grain bergers. Next year like an idiot I sold that lucky rifle. Now it would be a record for me if I made 27 calling stands in a season. I spend most all my time in the winter checking traps and snares. I occasionally get in a stand.

Why don't you get off your a$$ and go shoot 10 wolves ?? smile
Back in 97 I shot 73 called in fox in a row. I shot 187 that yr. And then went into the 98 season with a string of 51 killed before I had a miss.

I always told my kids if you watch them die in the scope you wont miss. When you peak over the scope your going to miss.

I shot a Rem 700 BDL 22-250 shooting 40r vmax that I called smoke.
I am sure I have killed more than 10 in a row without a miss, but never really kept track.
However, the last one I shot at was last Feb in Ks, standing at 100-120 yards and I missed him, and then missed twice more as he ran away. I have no idea what happened, I was shooting a custom Sako 221 fireball with a Leupold 4-12X, sitting with the gun on a harris bipod, rock steady.
The real bad news is there was a witness!
I've missed over ten in a row -

More than once!

For me, it was 33 straight coyotes, using a Browning in 243 with a Kahles on top and 75gr Vmax.

On the first miss with that combo, I was deer hunting near Kremmling and missed a hurried shot at about 150yds. A while later, I called one in to about 125yds and missed again. On the way back to camp, I called another in and let him get to 60yds, and I missed, again. I then checked zero and was off by a bunch. Something in the scope let loose as I could not get it to zero.

The scope has been repaired, and is sitting on a Sako L461 in 222remmag, using a stiff charge of Varget under a 55gr Sierra Gameking. A very, very accurate load, but I have missed with it.
