So I am trying to help a nice little ol lady from our church sell her husband's BP rifles. I have no idea of their worth and he has severe dementia and no longer lives with her.
Where does a guy go to sell rifles such as these. Maybe here on the fire? Or is there a better avenue.

I don't know where to start, but here's a few pics. of them and I do know the names of the builders. Both rifles are built for left hand shooter.

First is a full stock 50 cal built by Steve Alexander.

As a local left hand shooter in Elizabeth I’d be very interested. Sent you a pm.
I've personally found the market for high quality modern reproduction ML rifles to be a very small group of folks, and even they wont pay half of what the rifles cost to have built!
I was helping a friend's widow sell all his rifles, and even modern cartridge rifle clones of 1800's rifles sold well. But he had one Ron Scott custom Vincent half stock that he was extremely proud of and he paid $2700 for it from Ron Scott. His widow was hoping to get about 2/3rds of that, but I couldn't get that, so we dropped the price to half and still no luck. I got lots of guys looking at it and always commenting on how nice Scott's builds are, but no offers. I lowered it to $1150 and still no sales.
It's still sitting in my safe and every once in awhile I take it back to our gun show to sell, but just not enough people want to pay for the quality when all the cheap Italian ML rifles are less. Going to try again next month at the big Colorado Gun Collectors Assn. show and see if I can move it for her.
If you know anyone that goes to Friendship Indiana at their yearly event would be good chance of selling them. Also American Long rifle forum caters to high end ml
Used custom built good quality muzzleloaders typically bring half of the build price. The market is just so small. But, it's a great time for a beginner to get started with an affordable quality rifle.
Hoping to give them a new home come this weekend.
