Just picked this gun up at alocal gun shop it is a hunterbolt 54cal inline it has a no 11 nipple does cva make a conversion kit to make it use a 209 primer and looking for any load info the gun was made in 98 was thinking of using powerbelt bullets anybody else have one

should just need the 209 breech plug.

The last 2 numbers in the serial number will be the year it was made.

54cal conicals are slim, i'd give the 348gr powerbelts a try with 80-90gr pyrodex rs.

Bigblock if i just change the breech plug how does the striker hit the primer or dont cva make a kit to convert to a 209

I belive they made a conversion kit .There also a kit that shoot a 25 cal brass in pistol primmer . Call CVA to be sure I think bigblock455 has it

the hunterbolt has a firing pin, its not like the staghorn/buckhorn that uses a plunger "solid bolt" with a little bead at the end to set the primer off.

Hey big bore do you have a number for cva this gun was made in 1998 and aguy at the shop where i bought it that yhe 209 primer didnt start til 2000
