I'm thinking about getting a muzzleloader for my dad to use in the pa early muzzleloader season. He's 76 but moves around pretty well. I have no experience with modern guns muzzleloaders but I have some experience with flintlocks. My dad has shots up to about 150 yards in his farm fields so the gun needs to be able to get out to that range. I also would like to have a tc encore rifle in .357 so if I could get a muzzleloader and a .357 all in one frame that would be great. I would also be interested in a way to cheat in archery and get some of the pesky does that eat my apple trees in the winter. If I had to do get a slightly better gun than a muzzleloader on an encore frame I would be ok with that. Let me know what I need.
Oh I like the idea of being able to load the gun on a Saturday and still be able to shoot it the next Saturday if possible. So accuracy, reliability, and the ability to be used by a pretty small person would be good.
are you sure its legal in your state during the early season?
pretty positive you can hunt with an inline in the early season but in the later season you can only hunt with a flintlock.

Yes, the October muzzleloader season allows in-line and high powered rifle for seniors.
