Oregon now allows non lead muzzleloader bullets, but no sabots.
Thor bullets, I am told are made by Barnes and solid copper with a deep concave base with thin base walls so they will expand and seal. Thor sent me 4 bullets to see what size fit my rifle,500,501,502 and 503. The bullets were free and I can't remember if I had to pay shipping or not, I think not.
Anyway, I finally got around to ordering some and the Thor website had no order procedure so I emailed Terry Oertwig and told him I wanted some bullets. He said to tell him what I wanted and he would include the invoice with the order. I got the bullets today and the hand written invoice that included $3.80 for shipping 15 247 grain bullets. He included a addressed return envelope. Muzzle loader folks must have a reputation for honesty.
Even though I haven't shot them yet, I wanted to say thanks to Terry. It would have been easier to buy with a CC, but dealing with a man that trusts a stranger for payment is uncommon these days. I hope the bullets work.
Two questions!
What Muzzleloader / model are these for?
What size Thor fit snug?

I shoot a Remington 700. My rifle liked the 502. They are supposed to be snug and take around 35 lbs of Armstrong to seat IIRC.
Please keep in mind that you can also custom size them specifically for your bore in a very easy way.

Terry has always done the same with me. My NULA liked the .500 bullet.
it is possible that you may not find a thor that will work in your gun. the first triumph i had the .500 would fall out of the barrel, the .501 was really tight.

Something's not right. One of those (2) was either incorrectly sized, or incorrectly molded to that particular size listed.

Had the same issue with my TC Triumph. Just picked up a knight ultralight and look forward to trying the Thors in it
This may be a silly question but can one use round ball lead bullets or are they outlawed?

Thanks
Actually, they are, or soon will be in the PRC (Peoples Republic of Californy).

Anybody making any a non-toxic RBs yet?
yes, ITX.
Well, who'da thunk it?

I was actually halfway being a smartass. That's good information. Thanks.

I shot these bullets today and don't like them. It is nearly impossible to seat a second bullet without running a patch after the first shot. I can reload a lead bullet with no problem. I also get better groups with the plains bullet.
I have some .502 if someone wants to try them.
