Question for the group :

Having recently acquired a used clean Remington 700ML - trying to get an idea of the accessories that are needed for the rifle, maintenance, and shooting.

What - if any - are the "must haves" for a Remington ML?

I'll probably swap this bolt over to one of the 209 aftermarket kits, Badger Ridge or Muzzleloading Bullets - looking at the web for feedback on both.

Thoughts?

I consider the kit sold by Badger Ridge (same as the Hunter bolt nose) to be a "must have". Eliminates blowback, keeps fouling out of the inside of the bolt and makes the rifle Blackhorn209 compatible. IMO, if Remington woulda thought of it they'd still be making the 700ML

A brass T-handle ramrod for range work.

Why the switch to 209? I really like using the Triple7 pellets and U.M.L. ignition system.

Because a 700ML is much different than a 700 UML. The Ultimate is a true centerfire action. The old 700ML is not and will not work with BH209 without some upgrades. The Hunter bolt nose kit from Badger is the only one worth getting.

I run Triple7 pellets in a bunch of Knight LK-93/Bighorns and older DISC rifles - most converted with the newer RPJ.

Out of several hundred rounds fired, I've only had one FTF personally, and had one reported - bullet was not seated on the charge...not the rifle's fault.

Really like the results we've had with Triple7, been easy to clean for the most part - we did eight of the Knights this past Monday night.

i have used a 700 ML since they came out. The Badger Ridge conversion is a significant upgrade. I wish I had done it years sooner.
