I am heading up to Alaska next month, does anyone reccommend a good hip boot, I prefer not to buy from Cabelas and try to give the business to a good quality company.
For a one time hunt any rubber hipboot should work fine. As long as it's comfortable. Hogdmon, LaCrosse, Calcutta, etc. If you plan on hiking a long ways you may prefer an ankle fit boot.

Good luck!
Ankle fit definitely, you know of a company online that sells a good one?
I'm partial to the lacrosse ankle fit. I bought mine locally so can't help w/ online sources.
I'll second the LaCrosse ankle fit hip boots, been wearing my Big Chiefs for 6 years now. When I get ready to replace them I will buy another pair when these are worn out. You can buy them straight from LaCrosse. http://www.lacrossefootwear.com/category/recreation/waders.do
Thanks guys, I think I will give the Lacrosse a try.
zappos.com and shoebuy.com are good online companies with free shipping.

I've never shopped them for hippers, so don't know if either carries them.
