Was working on my mail box ,down on the parks hwy last nite about 530pm when a bunch of troopers shot by /had the armored bad guy killer truck with them ...mum's the word ! I hear its 13mile west of alpine creek lodge, jen and family are that a way !
yep wife saw someone post on FB that the cavalry and associated personnel were headed down the Denali hiway.

figured there had to be some gun play for the response by LEO

hope the folks at alpine are aok, seem like good people to me, love the place they've made and hopefully they do well at it.

Alaska State Troopers have major response to Denali Highway 'situation'

10:21 a.m. Monday update: Alaska State Trooper spokeswoman Beth Ipsen had the following statement this morning regarding the Denali Highway incident:
"The response to the initial situation has been called off, but there is an ongoing follow-up investigation that is taking place now."
More information should be available soon, she said.
----
DENALI HIGHWAY, Alaska — Alaska State Troopers responded in force Sunday night to what a spokesperson described as an "ongoing situation" at a remote location off the Denali Highway.
The Denali Highway is the gravel road that connects Cantwell on the Parks Highway and Paxson on the Richardson Highway.
The Denali Highway itself is not barricaded, but troopers have blocked off any access to the Valdez Mine Trail, according to a nearby lodge owner.
This is all taking place 14 miles west of the Alpine Creek Lodge.
"We had to send a lot of people, but it's just a precaution," said Beth Ipsen, public information officer. "There's too much we didn't know."
About 10 trooper cars sped south on the Parks Highway early evening at high speed. Sirens blared when they drove through the Denali Park area. They were accompanied by an armored vehicle and an incident command vehicle.
No further information was available at this time.
Let's see, 4th of July weekend in Alaska and no doubt plenty of ATF&E. What could possibly be a problem?
Perhaps they were worried about copy catters on an Alaskan scale? laugh
