Any of you guys up there hunt ducks and geese?

Most of it is over for this year except the sea duck hunting that goes into winter.

This was the poorest crane/goose hunting I've seen here at Delta.

If it flies... It dies ! Same as Vern ,we got a 20" blast of snow ..in one day.....caught them off guard,then the rain came a week latter ..and they got off the lakes / minto in one day ...gone!!

I hunted ducks/grouse/ptarmigan pretty hard the first year I was here, because I couldn't afford NR tags.

Once they started giving me free harvest tickets for Moose, Caribou, Sheep, Black Bear... birds took a back seat.

Don't know what dates teh seasons were, but this fall was the most cranes in migration we've ever seen around Delta.

But we did notice the flight path to be a bit off skew in azimuth it seemed.

Got real good 10 days ago when Fairbanks froze out...with this warm weather we might have a few weeks left.

I live down on the AKPEN near Cold Bay. We're just getting started.
