Well, an early season/August moose anyway. Those big ones are so tasty (fat and sweet) right before the rut starts.
This fellow was right behind the house on opening day,he's ancient here, in his prime he was in the mid 70's for 2 or 3 years. We tried eating his tenderloins and then ground every bit of him into burger,hotdogs, and saucauge.
I've always liked those gnarly older bulls' antlers the best. The really wide ones are rarely near as interesting IMO. (But I really like 'em when they're younger: not quite so difficult to pack around, and
less work grinding! )
