From around the world we heard the biggest moose come from Alaska.
Lets see those big guys ...please post spread in inches.

This should be easy to beat....my 2015 moose 47 inch spread.

Here are the antlers from my 1999 moose. Spread was 55 inches; 4 brow tines on each side. My brothers was 58". The moose were together and so were we, so we shot both of them at the same time. Some of you know enough not to do that.

I had stories about the hunt in Fur-Fish-Game (February 2001) and Outdoor Life (Summer 2003).

Steve.
Big moose?

[Linked Image]

I don't know about the antlers spread - not sure anyone cared at that particular time- but my pard is 6'3", 280 pounds relative to the moose.

[Linked Image]

I don't honestly keep track of the antler width after it's been reported to F&G. About the only part I remember, data-wise, are the calories expended one way or another in getting the critter from the tracks he's standing in, to the freezer/table.

So Mark, are you ahead on the calorie graph yet? smile
Big bodied guy. High 50s, 58 I think.

[Linked Image]

Partner's. 67" if I remember correctly. He had more that a half dozen over 60" before he was killed in a car wreck.

[Linked Image]
Right at 60 I think. Better looking picture without me in it. Grin.

Somewhere around 58.....shot by yours truly.

A good lookin 45 incher taken over by Chicken.

Unfortunately, yes. I'm quite sure the credit lies elsewhere than in the eating of the venison however.

The moose have, so far, always lost. I can see the handwriting on the wall though. Karma is unarguably a five-letter word. However, rather than a "b", I think it may start with an "m". smile

Those kind are often best left for those who either lack the necessary judgement to know better, or are in the company of paid 'help'. wink

I'd like to lack that knowledge just once.. but you know what I mean. LOL

Some of the best trophies a guy will ever have are the ones that never get dusty.....and hang only on the walls of memory. Granted, they are easier to take when it was you who walked away. smile
This young man is the shortest of three brothers-he is only 6'3". The other help were brothers J. at 6'5" and A. at 6'8". These fellas can pack anything! It's really, really in their blood to do so...

These dudes are actually among my best trophies. They're really good packers too....one fork-full after another! laugh

My wife is quite the moose hunter too!!
52" Yakutat - Back in the Day. I'd love to acquire a similar set, they're long gone... As the saying goes: if I only knew then what I know now.

Friends and I did this in 2 days once. We refer to it as the "P90moose workout".
[Linked Image]
Might not be too bad if it was a float hunt.........maybe.
Damn those moose are BIG!

This fellow was right behind the house on opening day,he's ancient here, in his prime he was in the mid 70's for 2 or 3 years. We tried eating his tenderloins and then ground every bit of him into burger, hotdogs, and saucauge.

I've always liked those gnarly older bulls' antlers the best. The really wide ones are rarely near as interesting IMO. (But I really like 'em when they're younger: not quite so difficult to pack around, and less work grinding! )
58"er from this year.

beautiful rack..love all them points. Congrats
