Who here has used the grid? My first experience yesterday. Normally haul out but decided to ease my mind on how my boat was fishing and look things over before my annual May haul out. It was below freezing when I snapped this pic yesterday. Scrubbed/changed zincs and made sure everything was legit under there.

My aluminum zincs were trashed, so swapped them out. Everything else just needed a scrubbing but looked good. Let the king killing commence.. And I am sooo sick of these NE winds. Cold!

Spent several days on the Port Moller grid.

I'll just say it wasn't for normal maintenance.

funny how different locales have different names for things. We call it "grounding out" Usually we replaces zincs and clean bottom fouling as you describe. We usually put a little list on the boat by filling a couple 55 gallon drums with water tie it up to the dock and wait for the tide to drop. We usually tie to the dock in three places. The stern line has a 5 gallon bucketful of water on the line to keep the boat tight to the dock, but have enough slack to compensate for the drop of the tide. The bow line and line at midships are usually quite taught but are fairly long and allow the boat to drop with the tide as well. Good luck with the kings

So, your ANODES are Al and not Zn? grin (just ribbin' ya)

haha, good catch. I run two aluminum anodes on the top of my rudder, and two bigger zinc anodes on the bottom. Some sort of fish voodoo.

How is the fishing over there? I've heard there has been a few close to town.

It's slow. A few might be accurate. It's about that time though... I did get 8 in two passes through windy in January. Half were shakers though!

Thanks. Guess I'll give it a bit. Just getting anxious now that we got all this daylight!
