I am considering purchasing this inflatable for an upcoming bear hunt on Kodiak and also for dingy use on my drift gillnetter. Is this boat large enough to ferry two guys, packs and a bear hide across a large bay like Uganik safely in reasonable weather conditions?

We will be tenting and I'd like to use the boat to move around on the water.

Listen to Art. He know this chit.

I know crap-all about bear hunting, and Uganik, but what little I do know I don't think I'd try it even in my 14' Achilles. It would handle the load, but I'm kinda skeered of real water with it.

Those Kodiak waters can get mean. At very inconvenient times.

Then there is this propensity of bears to chew on rubbery things..... I'm sort of surprised one hasn't toothed mine yet up here on several times I know they have passed right by.

If I knew then what I know now, in year 7 of what was supposed to be a 1-3, I'd have bought a solid boat, bigger motor (Walt warned me!), faster snow machine. Sold the house down there, bought one up here, disinherited the children, etc.... smile

Good luck on your bear hunt.
Thanks. We had a good chat today and he lined me out on a few things.

One month to go!
Good chat, let's do it again before you launch...
