long bullets what twist for 117 gr or 120 gror higher

Those weight bullets shoot fine in my factory 700’s.

Yep, the standard factory/SAAMI 1-10" twist works fine with lead-core bullets in that weight-range, along with the 115 Barnes TSX.

What he said!

They shoot fine in my factory Ruger #1AB and Browning BAR II. And also the Berger 115 VLD Hunting, out of the #1 (haven't tried it in the BAR).

In addition to the bullets mentioned I have had great success with the 110 grain Accubond

I shot the 117 SBT in my factory 700. When I replaced the barrel I went with a 1-10” Douglas air gauge which was the same as factory barrels and bothe shot very well.

IF you're looking for the higher BC hunting/TGT bullets Berger recommends a 1:7.5 twist for their .257 133grn Elite Hunter and their 135 grn LR Hybrid with an MV of 2650. An mv of 2950 will still require a twist of 1:7.75 IAW their calculator.

People/hunters with a standard or normal / hunting rifle seem to be getting to.worried about rifle twist and heavier grain bullets . I bet your rifle will be just fine with what twist it has G00d luck and have some fun,Pete53

Yup, my standard 1:10 twist Remington 700 shoots 115 gr Berger VLD, 115 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips, and 120 gr Remington hunting bullets just fine. Very accurate. I've made 400 - 425 yard shots on mule deer and coyotes with that.

A faster twist barrel, which I'm contemplating, will stabilize 130+ grain bullets.

Accurate and lethal. I've used them on mule deer, pronghorn antelope and coyote with great results.

They have really big Dads in west Texas. Ours aren’t that big, mostly, because we shoot everone we get a chance to.

Best I’ve killed.
