Good Morning, I am pining over a new Mark V Weatherby Deluxe. I have always liked the Mark V series and now have the means to get one.
I have several bad weather and woods style rifles and want this for my long range whitetail rifle. I have been spoiled by my Sakos with out of the box accuracy, so my question is : How have the latest Mark V Weatherby's in .257 shot? Will I have to bed or fiddle around with pressure point etc.? I know what great values the Vangaurdds are but am only interested in the Mark V.
Thank You
I own a Mark V 257. Living in an extremely dry realm, the stock did a bit of shifting as the wood dried down. It's a common issue with about anything of substance made of wood here (furniture etc) that it will need some attention after a year or so. I removed the pressure point, floated the barrel all around, and had to bed the receiver (front and back) to turn mine into a nail driver.
Thanks, i like hearing the tackdriver part.
I have owned 4 different mark v in 257 and all shot 1/2" or less out of the box.
