Need to know the year of manufacture of a 6x36 #41226B 6x36? Did this scope have coatings? Thanks, powdr
Easy way to tell if the Leupold scope has multi-coated lenses: Hold the scope at waist level - Obj. lens up. Look at the lens as you tilt the scope to see the color of the coatings... If it's green: It's multi-coated... If it's purple, then it's not!
If you're color blind; then you're screwed! The M8; 6x36 was never multi-coated. However the FX-II, is ...
Well Im lost... I have a Vari-X II (not a VX 2) with an "E" at the end of the serial number. He says the Vari-X II's were made between 1974 & 1983. He also states that after 1983 the letter follows the serial number. Only problem with that is the Vari-X II's were no longer in production.(according to his chart) What am I missing here??

Mudslicks,
Obviously that was a typo. I'm sure he meant to say that the letter is a suffix beginning in 1993 . Thus your scope would be 1997 production. Hope that helps...
Well I had a typo. His chart shows X II's made from 1963 - 1983. If he had a typo, He has two of em. 1 in the chart listing features, the other in his post below the letter/year's list. Not so sure its a typo or not.
Guess I need to take some pics and post em on the TX forum.
