Bought a used 700 and don't know if the trigger has been replaced with an aftermarket job or is original to the gun and needs to go back to Remington for the recall. Can anyone tell if this is one of the XMP recalled triggers?

Looks like it to me. Take the stock off and compare it to images you can find on the internet. The externally adjustable one wasn't introduced until '09. From '06-'09 they didn't have a screw in the trigger shoe.

Thanks. I was hoping I didn't have to return the trigger for the recall. It really breaks fine right now!

call or email Remington with the serial number. I have one just like it and it was recalled.

I'd not be sending anything back. Seems like it might be a good time to learn how to disassemble and clean one.

None of my Remington s are affected, fortunately.
