Hey John, is that you on the cover of "Modern Pioneer". Never have seen the magazine before, picked a copy us at the market. Cool mag, a lot of good stuff, I might subscribe if subscription is cheaper that store price.

Do you write much for that publication?

PS, Pioneers don't wear diamonds! wink

I've never seen a copy either, in fact never heard of it until right now!

Guy on the cover looks just like you.

I googled it and the website makes the magazine look like sort of a Sunset magazine, but this magazine issue was chalked full of all kinds of outdoor stuff.

Deer stratgegies.
How to display turkey feathers.
black poweder.
Old bargain rifles such as the different Mausers.
Fire starting tips.
Noodling catfish.
Backpacking tents
Backwood carpentry without nails
Natural Navigation.

A lot of good stuff packed into a bi-monthly.

Going to call tomorrow and see what's up.

Man, I could have sworn that was you on the cover in a black hat, sheepskin jacket, shooting a lever action.

Maybe he's been computer enhanced like they do to Oprah on the cover of her magazine.

Rollin' back the clock with 0s and 1s!

Or maybe John has had a little work done. Hey it worked for Joan Rivers. grin

So what you are saying is that the modern pioneer ain't so modern anymore? smile

I wonder how his picture ends up on a magazine he has never heard of?
By the way, won't the buffalo be spooked by the photographer standing out in the open like that? smile

A good mortician can enhance even a crusty old stiff... shocked

Some folks will come to pay respects and say nice things they'd never say otherwise.

Others will drop by just to "make sure"... cool
