I have been hitting the pawn stores lately looking for a magnum face M700BDL for a 7 Rem Mag build. Around here it is really hard to find any used M700's much less a deal. I went into a small pawn store in North August and among the 5 used M700's they have is a late model M700KS for $475.00. I talk the dealer down to $450 out the door. I bought a later model 270 in 90+% condition, the ones with a McMillian stock and mat finish with a Simmons 4x16 scope. I how have 5 KS's a 270,280,30'06,35 Whelen and 1 rebarrelled to 257 Roberts.

Even at the current market,$1,000, I think the 700KS is a deal.

Nice! I suspect you'll find an occasional pawnshop where they simply get a rough value of a standard 700, and base their price on that. If it's a KS or such, you have a great deal. Congratulations!

I generally see 700 sps types on sale aorund 299-399 and generally they offer the mag versions... good for donor if you can't find for less and you are starting brand new... which ain't as good as old but I digress...
