John

Is it possible to rebarrel my 25wsm to a 270wsm? Thanks

Got the same issue....thinking the action might be worthless for any normal round. Gun was given to me...might give it back!

WSM (Winchester Short Magnum) or WSSM (Winchester Super Short Magnum)? If the latter, yes. If the former, almost assuredly not.

The 70 WSSM actions make a nice platform for a 500 S&W.

There are also the B&M propriatary cartridges in .458", .475", and .500".

People used to use WSSM to make the 358 WSSM for Indiana deer hunting.

Tuchodi,

As other posters have already suggested, it depends on whether your .25 is a .25 WSM wildcat, or a .25 WSSM.

If you have a 25 WSSM and are looking at rebarreling because of the drought of factory ammo and components, please contact Olin and ask them for help. I doubt that WSSM ammo and components is a point of discussion at Wincheter/Olin, but if WSSM owners are able to send a message that we are a market niche with $$ to spend, perhaps Olin will make some WSSM ammo and brass to feed the hungry and make the Browning and Winchester/USRA rifles usable again.
