I am guessing this falls into the "there is a good reason nobody makes one" category.

This seems like it would make a handy useful rifle. 9mm is about the same price (sometime less) as 22mag. Plenty of power for badgers, porcupines, etc (most anything under 80 pounds I would expect). Fairly flat trajectory.

I hope someone has a perfectly good reason they want work because I have always thought about one myself. Especially if you loaded the 147s and shot them suppressed.

I remember about 20 years ago seeing a Destroyer bolt gun that was maybe Danish Navy issue for sell at the gun shows pretty cheap. I always hated I didnt pick one up. Not sure if it was chambered for an oddball 9mm round or not.

Spanish actually. Some were 9mm Luger but most were 9mm Largo. It was used by Spanish police and prisons.

The only one that I recall seeing was a Spanish-made Destroyer carbine in 9mm Largo (whatever that is). The guy who had it priced it out of my curiosity range. I can't see much traction for a 9mm bolt, but thought that the Ruger PC-9 and PC-4 "Police Carbines" would have sold enough to keep them in production.

rim thickness is 0.005 bigger on the 9mm so may need to tweak extractor there too.

I don't know if it's a "good" reason or not, but the business of manufacturing centerfire rifles in North America revolves around deer hunting. No one seems to want to spend the money on a centerfire rifle if they can't use it for deer hunting, at least in theory. People(some, anyway) will buy .357, .44 mag or .223s as 'utility' rifles which might, possibly, take a deer, under the right circumstances, or "if necessary". The received wisdom, however, is that carbines or rifles chambered for centerfire rounds like .25-20, .32-20, .256 Magnum, 9mm, .45acp, etc., aren't any good for humane, sporting deer hunting, so they just won't get made, even if they might have other uses.

My answer to that need was to get a Ruger 77/357 and taper crimp 9mm bullets into .357 magnum cases. Despite .002 or so nominal bullet diameter difference it shot them as well as the lighter .357 bullets shot.

Yeah, 9mm Largo a 23mm case. I remember looking at one of those and wondering if it could handle 9x23 Winchester ammo. You'd have to ream it .010 deeper but who knows.

BTW, I believe Winchester may have chambered a few M-70's in 9mm, Dear Lord I'd hate to pay for one though!

You could buy a very nice truck, or a not so nice house for what a 70 in 9x57 Mauser would bring these days...

Or just shoot .38 Specials out of it. They feed fine in my 77/357 and are very mild in recoil and report. .38's can be bought for around the same price as 9mm's, I think.

I have a Winchester bolt action Mod 36 in 9mm. I think it is a garden gun.

Slightly off topic, but I knew an older gun smith who was considering converting a Marlin bolt action 22 magnum to 25ACP.
Im not sure if he ever made it happen, as he passed back in the late 90s. Sure miss talking with him.

Suppressed 9mm bolt rifle perfect for knocking off drug dealers from down the block. Head shots made easy!

If .22 ammo doesn't start coming down in price, we will see more interest in 9mm bolt guns.

A Marlin model 9 Ranch Rifle is NOT a bolt but short handy semi auto 9mm rifle. They are no longer made (AFAIK) but can be found occasionally.

They use the same mags as the S-W 5900 series handguns.

Don't guess I saw the word parabellum.

Why a bolt gun? Keep it simple and make a single shot with a threaded barrel for the suppressor of your choice. Something along the lines of a HR handy rifle. Synthetic stock with an ammo box built into it. Open sights and a optics rail. Probable have to make it in .40 and 9mm.
