Hi guys. Finally got around to cooking up some loads for the 375 rum today. Went to the range this morning. Settling in on a 300 gn nosler partition over 94 gn of h4831. Easy load to shoot. I need to chrono yet. I loaded up to 98 but groups got bigger with every grain increase. 94 shoots well under moa. At 50 yds, all in a hole. 100 is around .5-.6. Cant be more pleased at this point. Just wanted to throw out an update. thanks

I'll take your word for it. That load is about 7gn more than the load I use on the 375R. While I don't think the Ruger is hard to shoot I have never shot anything higher in the recoil department. I've shot some stout 45-70 loads but the Ruger certainly surpasses that. Now that you have your load are you planning a hunt somewhere?
Let me say that the recoil on that load is very tolerable. When you go full load, it becomes pretty hard on the shoulder. I will be using it off and on for deer season this year. I have to make sure I put the deer down, you know how dangerous they can be. smile
What kind of velocity are you getting? I have a REM 798 that I re-chambered from .375 H&H to .375 Wby and I can get 2,800 with a 300 gr bullet easily which is pretty similar to what the RUM should do.
What kind of rifle are you shooting and how much does it weigh? I have a Rem XCR II in 375 Weatherby that weighs 7 1/2 lbs unloaded with it's Leupold 2-7x scope. Shooting 375 H&H full power loads it's a breeze, shooting factory 375 Weatherby 300g Partitions it's a tad snappy...

Not sure if you're asking me but I'm shooting an xcr with a b&c medalist bedded. Warne bases and rings and a zeiss scope. Guessing 8.5lbs. Full house loads are a bit uncomfortable. These loads at 94 gn are very tolerable.
I was and thanks gunchamp. My 375 Weatherby full house loads should kick less than your 375 RUM. They're not bad at all in my XCR II, the 375 H&H rounds are pure pussycat.
I have used my 375 RUM in Africa several times . 300 grain TSX with 100 gr 7828 is just above 2860 fps and is very accurate.95 grains of h 4831 with 300 north forks is a hammer. I have had poor luck with 300 nosler partitions on big game buff etc. I am sure they will be great on plains game . It is a great round and I don't find recoil that bad and I have no break. My gun is AHR custom made on CZ action.

After running a good many rounds through the RUM, the 375 ruger and H&H do feel pretty mild. I do have a muzzle brake on mine but I never would use it in the woods. I rarely use it at the range. Full bore load development got pretty nasty, thats when I screwed on the brake. I'm glad the 94 load shot so well, very shootable for me.

I have not used this gun to take any animal yet. Thats interesting that you had problems with the partitions. Alot of people seem to really like them for the big and nasty stuff. I also have a good bit of barnes 250's, have not got a chance to load any up yet. Curious to see how they shoot.
I too have had good ouch with 250 partitions in 338 but on 3 occasions I sae 300 portions perform poorly on buffalo all wer somewhat face on shots and they did not get into the vitals and wounded buff was the result. Great bullets for smaller game but I would use TSX or a frame or north forks
My load is 99 gr IMR7828 270 TSX. 2950 fps and 1/2" at 100. One load for one planet.
damn i use 100 grains of 7828 with 300 grain tsx with no problems
