I just got a used ( its new to me) 375 Ruger Alaskan. I have some 270 hornady bullets. I eventually want to shoot 260 nosler accubonds but for initial getting it on paper and trying it out I am using the cheaper 270g
I have r15, imr 4350, and 4831.
I am looking for a middle of the road maybe 2500-2600 fps load that is accurate. Any recommended loads to start with?
Also, anybody use 375 h&h load data since the case capacity is so close?
Hodgdon website has data.
I have read tons on how using RL15 is the gold standard in the .375, but that's the H&H. Not sure about the Ruger. Tagged to see what works for you!

Re 15 is all you will ever need for a Ruger .375. I've had one for about five years, and have tried some others, but they really don't come close.
I'm shooting a 270 gr load at about 2600 fps, which are about 250 fps down from the top -- but then who really cares...

I use IMR 4350 for practice and Marmot/P-dog use. 81-82 gr and the Hornady 270 SP gives just over 2700 in my Alaskan.
For 270 TSX bullets I use the max listed of RL-15 and get almost exactly the same speed but the POI changes a little. Both loads are varmint rifle accurate with only a 1.5-5 VX-III. I've shot the Hornady out to 400 yds. on steel with great results.

Dennis,
Out of sheer curiosity, at 2600 fps do you find a noticeable decrease in perceived recoil?
Would you mind sharing the load?
I am thinking of 70g R15 and 72g imr4350. Any idea where that would put me?
Some, but no big deal. It still has plenty of action...!

I load 72 gr on mine, at 23". The bullets are running just at 2650 fps, and shoot just under an inch. I know I can shoot heavier loads, but don't know of any reason to do so.

72g r15 sounds good. That is one of the few loads I have been able to find on the net. I have checked a lot of sights and found either bullets I have listed with different powder or powder I have listed with different bullet weights. I would also be interested in any loads using imr 4064 or 4895.
I've used RL15 for my 375 Ruger reloads, with good success- but prefer the results I get with Big Game powder. I mostly load the Barnes 270 TSX, with MV around 2800 fps, which gives very accurate results.
Are Hornady 270 spire points Interbonds or Interlocks?
Hard to beat a maximum charge of 81.5 - 82.0 gr Ramshot Big Game and a 270 grain Barnes TSX for 2700 fps out of the 20" barrel of my Ruger Alaskan.
76 gr of imr 4831 with that bullet in my H&H is submoa
