Hi, I have a classic mod 70 with a 24" barrel.
Will be loading Barnes 270 tsx flat base and using RL 15.
Am going to start with 73 grains of RL15 (Barnes load data goes all the way up to 77 grains, by the way)

Anybody loading around 73 grains, and if so, about what fps can I expect out of the muzzle?
(will not be using a chrony, and wanted to get some numbers that you might be seeing... if not 73 grains, how many are you loading, and what muzzle velocity are you getting without pressure issues??)

Thanks for your help!
Old Crab,
Using 73.0 Re15, Barnes 270 TSXFB, Fed 215, in Federal cases I averaged (4, 3 shot groups) 2646 fps and 1 1/16" out of my 23" Ruger. No pressure signs at all. Decided to just stick with 300 Gr TSXFB, 71.5 Re 15 - better accuracy and 2530 fps avg. Nice rifle, good luck!! Terry
Check out 375 H&H pet loads thread.

Switch the primers to 210s and I'll bet the groups will shrink..
