Jorge, for $80K, you can put your initials on it. Or for 1/10th that, you can buy my Krieghoff! :-)
Posted By: jorgeI Re: THERE ARE DOUBLES... - 04/03/16
For 80K I could have Nigella Lawson, but for 8 I can have Angela Merkel??? Pass! smile

YOU ARE STUFFY! :-)

Not wanting to steal your thread, but who is Nigella Lawson?
Posted By: jorgeI Re: THERE ARE DOUBLES... - 04/04/16
I think she cooks....

Looks like she cooks and eats, too smile

I nearly bought a Westley Richard .500 for $3295.00 once. Then I considered having to hire Bob, and asked the question a 2nd time, "Are you sure that's the right price?"

It finally penetrated the salesman's head that decimal was one place off on the price tag. grin

I told my wife if Nigella ever offered it up, she goes on the auction block...

Nice rifle, what caliber? A double rifle is on my bucket list, unfortunately that bucket will probably be kicked over before the rifle ever comes.

Ambiguity of which 'she' you meant may have kept you intact.

If indeed you still are.

Anyone have any experience with Heym doubles? I saw a pre war one listed which was very nicely engraved. Caliber was 405 Win.

Jorge,
You already have a pretty wife.

I certainly agree that today Wesley Richards is the best gun builder in England. About Twenty years ago I talked a good friend ( with a lot more income than me) into buying a very nice gold name WR droplock double in 425 for $3500 and about ten years ago helped his sell it for $8500. I shot it a few time and wished I had purchased it.

Thank you, but my Achilles tendon is Nigella... smile
Posted By: gitem_12 Re: THERE ARE DOUBLES... - 05/04/16
you got that choked imp/modified?

Looks like like a pretty decent brush buster for bunnies and grouse

Beautiful double. Above my pay grade though.

On the other hand. When you're my age a good cook is about as good as it gets.

My first wife was a looker. When she died of cancer, it was time for a cooker. Now I'm gaining weight I didn't need but it's nice.
That is a dream rifle for sure. wow.

Jorge, is that your WR Droplock? Beautiful rifle.

I agree with your sentiments re Nigella. Mmmmm...
Posted By: jorgeI Re: THERE ARE DOUBLES... - 06/30/16
I wish! (n both counts!). I just have a lowly Verney Carron 450 NE.

Nothing wrong with a VC! I'm looking at a round body 500 NE now.
Posted By: jorgeI Re: THERE ARE DOUBLES... - 08/08/16
Biebs, looking at either a 303 like Ken's or a 375Flanged myself.
Posted By: Biebs Re: THERE ARE DOUBLES... - 08/08/16
Yes, 303 would be awesome. I'll send you a PM on one.
Posted By: jorgeI Re: THERE ARE DOUBLES... - 08/08/16
Got it. Nice one, very nice. Still debating caliber choice and matching my existing VC.
Posted By: Biebs Re: THERE ARE DOUBLES... - 08/09/16
The VC is hard to beat...in any caliber.
Posted By: jorgeI Re: THERE ARE DOUBLES... - 08/09/16
We'll see how the year pans out and what mood I'm in at DSC! smile
