My Daughter and Son In Law just bought some Yak meat, and "shared" a package of the ground meat with me.

Going to cook it up in a few days and see what it's like.

Am thinking it will be more like game meat (Deer/Elk) than Beef.

Looks to be lots leaner than Beef.

Anyone tried Yak?

Once a year or so we dine at a wild game restaurant in Greenville SC called Saskatoon. A couple years ago the weekly special was a Yak ribeye. Tasted like good beef to me.

I cooked up my ground Yak last night.

Added half a small onion diced fine, and garlic salt, and black pepper.

Formed it into three patties and fried it.

Turned out pretty good.

It did taste more like wild meat than beef, but mild and not "gamey"

Good stuff! Virgil B.

Where would I find it?

I'm not sure where my Daughter bought the YAK meat.
All I know is; somewhere in Oregon.

They took two coolers, and filled both with Yak meat.

Might try to google it.
