Hello. Thanks for the E mails the last couple days. I had no idea there was a thread Rob P in the food forums. I've been busy here. The last year, I lost two Aunts and my Mom had a stroke in June. She is bed bound and I'm involved with her care a good 12 to 14 hours a day. I went fishing once this year, and I hunted half a day. Mom's other two sisters are a bit of work too. I get home pooped, put the heat pad on my back, the ice pack on my shoulder, and play with the computer or some such thing a few minutes and zzzzz. Care givers take a beating, I tell you.

On the positive side, I've had a lot of time hanging around little old ladies. I taught myself to make a little jewelry, like these fimo clay butterfly ear rings. Add a wire hook and fini. I've made hundreds of them.

I learned to crochet! I found it's impossible to watch an 88 year old do it every single day without picking up a hook and trying it. I hope I don't develop her obsession with scratch tickets from watching her do that all day too! Everyone is getting a scarf and a hat for Christmas!

My friends are a little concerned. Losing my mind? How many flies can you tie when you don't have time to fish? How much ammo can you load when you don't have time to shoot? So on?

Crocheting. Girls like it! Who knew? And I worked so hard all these years to cultivate a personality! I've been seeing my little friend here when I can get my Brother to watch my Mom. Our 6th date was yesterday, my birthday, no less. I'm averaging about one night out a Month. Very nice girl. Patient!

Don't worry too much about me. I've just switched into survival mode for a while. Mom turned 90 today. I'm now half her age. The age she was when she had me! Crazy.

So good to hear from you!
Great to see and hear from you Rob. All the best to mom, yourself, and the new gal.

You are certainly cut from a different cloth. Way to take care of family, just don't do yourself in too.
I took care of my Mom for her last couple of years, so I know the work associated with handling the needs of just one. Given that, I can imagine what you have on your plate. You certainly have my respect.
You're a good boy, Rob!

I bet that gal is impressed with your love and care for mom. Keep her around.

Hope you can get a little time now and then on the 'Fire.
Good deal Rob happy birthday to both of you and glad you are well
Hey Rob! Thanks so much for the update. Looks like your life is busy, and fulfilling.
I hope you realize that you have a lot of friends here. I miss your input in our little corner of the internet. Pop in from time to time, to share a recipe, or share your life with us.

I guess I should say Hello before you start sending people looking for me!

Too late, Mongo, we already did...

I think when Mickey passed, some of may have gotten a little freaked out over someone not showing up in a long while...
You got that right!!! I had a business trip planned to Boston and was willing to make the extra trek North to make sure as was well.

But I would be looking for Mongo in RI! ACK!! eek

This is a nice story. Merry Christmas.
Best wishes to you, Rob.
Merry Christmas to ya Rob!
You're a good man Rob. smile

Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours.
