Same one I have, great for your purpose. Do 3-5 deer a year with mine plus have did quite a bit of pork sausage in the past.
I have an old Northern Tool one.Cost about$120.Easily 20 years old. This year already I have done an elk and a deer.Last year, an elk, a moose, a deer and an antelope. Typical use for each year. But have done 3-4 elk some years along with hunting partners.Even a few beef now and then. An elk is probably equivalent to 4 deer or so

It will keep one guy busier than he wants to be.

I understand the newer ones are not quite as good, but I know a few guys that have newer ones and they are working fine.

If you have a lot of money,go with the Lem or a Cabelas for $300-$500,but you sure don't need it

I'll echo them. Has worked great for me.
I just got a 3/4hp grinder from Cabelas. They have made a lot of improvements from the previous version. I know this thing will grind meat as fast as I shove it through it.

I too bought the Gander #12 last year about this time when it was on sale, plus gander had a coupon going and free shipping. I don't recall the total but it was less than $300 to my door. This thing is built like a tank, is quiet, powerful, and works very well. They do indeed have a 5 year warranty, not 1 year like it states on the website.

Whatever grinder brand you choose, I wouldn't go any smaller than a #12, and I'd stick with the stainless/commercial type from Gander, Cabelas, LEM, Weston, etc. The other #12 that Gander has (same as the Northern Tool model) works pretty well, but is loud as hell - loud enough you'll consider wearing ear protection. The commercial one I bought last year is quiet enough to have a conversation in normal a voice. Might not seem like a big deal, but after a while it makes a difference.

Thanks for the info guys. I do not mind spending a little more for quality.
