I'm looking to pick up a digital camcorder. This will be for personal use, nothing professional, just chits n giggles. But I want a decent camera, nonetheless. What I'm currently considering is a JVC GZMG670BU, which has a 80gb HDD, with upscaling to 1080i, I think, using an onboard HDMI port. Here it is:

I'm new to this game and could use some opinions and other suggestions if you have them. I would like to have one with a hard drive and expansion slots for memory cards, preferably SD-cards. I want to stay under $500 as well.

Let's have it guys. Ya'll have to have more experience with this than I do.

Thanks,

David

My brother is a research fanatic and does not buy cheap chit. I was chatting with him today and he said the Canon's were by far the best of the bunch. I do believe, however, he said he spent $800.

Yeah, I've seen some of the Canon stuff, but not looked into them much. Need to check them out more. The $800 thing is out of my range. Maybe some day, but not now.

Thanks,

David
