For the past few years since I was infected with a landscape photography bug, I have tried going to the San Juan Mountains in southwestern Colorado in late July for wildflowers. This year, a week was spent in American Basin, Velocity basin, Stoney Pass and Red Mountain.

Some more images are in a gallery on my photo website.

Looks like the bumble bees should have been happy.

1' there were a few bees but not too bad, nor many skeeters thankfully.

That incident happened after I returned to Flagstaff.

Doug, I took a quick tour of this gallery... very nice as always, envious of your skills.

Great shots, Red. My family and I had lunch just below where you took the pic of the flowers in American basin, the middle to last week in June. No flowers then and lots of snow at the time. Beautiful area, like much of Colorado.

We have driven from Durango to Ouray a couple of times. Always in early June. I need to get out there later in the summer.
