Hi I have an MRC M1999 Long Action (30-06). I am putting a long range scope on this rig to play with, and I got a Leupold - Winchester 70 LA-20 MOA base to put on the rifle (Leupold item # 171343)

My understanding is that the M1999 retained the M70 scope geometry...but this does NOT fit. The two holes over the chamber line up, but the two closer to the safety are too short.

I want to go with a cross-slot (picatinny) 20MOA base, any suggestions that will work on my rig??
