Anyone ever use one of them M77 Mark II rifles, 6.5 Creedmoor with a 28” barrel?

I’m asking because I’m tryin to find a value on it. I’m considering selling it. I’m going through the safe and trying to thin some out.

The best thing to do is look on Gunbroker, under completed sales in the advanced search function. If any have sold, that will give you an idea of what they sell for. I saw an even more "rare" model chambered in 6PPC a year ago. The shop only wanted $600 for it. To give you an idea, I just looked on GB for you and I saw a very nice like new stainless pepper laminate target model chambered in 6.5 creedmoor. It was listed at $1,100.00 but did not sell. That was as current as 1-4-2023. If yours is in really nice condition (like new) it may bring $1,000.00 on a good day... There was one that sold for $855 a month ago. That one is the stainless Hawkeye varmint model with pepper laminate stock and 28" barrel. That should give you an idea on value..

Thanks! Hanco told me to look at past sales but I didn’t know how to do it. You ain’t gonna believe this chit but I called ruger and tried to get more information on them like the number built and what not….they told me that they don’t give out that information. Lol
I know mine’s one of the earlier ones made because I bought it before ammunition was available. I didn’t buy it because I wanted to be on the next big thing. I bought it because I never heard of it and because I had never seen a factory rifle with a 28” barrel. They discontinued it and them came out later with some similar models/colors. When I bought this particular one, it was only made in one color of laminate. Thanks partner

Another thing, it shoots very well! I took it and entered a little small local shooting match and I placed second. I placed second because I didn’t know that it was going to be timed. I also assumed it would be all bolt action rifles. A guy with an AR kicked my azz because I couldn’t work my bolt fast enough!

Cool story buddy. I'm sure it is a shooter. I had a varmint/target in 223 and that damn thing was a tack driver. It would put a bullet right where I was looking, damn near every time. Glass bedding the action really helps them. As for your shoot, it would be hard to keep up with a good AR. I'd have a hard time doing it and I have not seen anyone faster off the bench.. You would have to hope the guy didn't' shoot it as well as you do your bolt action and that you could at least top him in points. Regardless of the time limit.

I saw one listed here in Salt Lake for $785. But the market here is pretty stagnant right now.

Yeah I’m noticing that around here too. I decided I would keep it for now. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to keep it.

I bought one several years ago on our Second Amendment tax free weekend. I don’t have to worry about maneuverability with it and the Nosler 140 B/tip and A/bond have the same point of impact and shoot very accurately. A little heavy but around here I don’t have to carry it very far if I want to hunt with it.
