I had Shawn Carlock build me a 338 Laupa with a 30" ABS Carbon Wraped barrel. The rifle was built around the 325 grain Wildcat rebated boat tail as an extreme range rifle. It is built on a Rem 700 action and housed in a Sendero stock topped with a Nightforce 5.5X22X50 scope. Shawn shot the rifle today with the first load that he ever put together with the 325 grain Wildcat bullet and shot a .8" three shot group at 300 yards.... That's .255 MOA without working a load for the rifle..... To say that I am pleased is an understatement... We are still waiting on the Detachable box magazine that will allow a 3.9" loaded lenght, when it arrives and is installed he will ship it to me ..........Can't wait.........

Sounds pretty sweet!!!! I would be very anxious as well!
Sounds very nice, I look forward to seeing some pictures.

How come you didn't do shawn's fav the 338 edge?

I went with the Laupa in 338 because it is a factory chambering and the better quality Laupa brass..The advantage of the Edge is that you do not need to use a center feed Magazine and less work to the action.

Awsome I have had my on on the Lapua for a year now. Will be getting one soon. Do you know anything of the AR-30 pretty cheap is it any good?

Just opens the bolt face I believe, but this is very criticle and must be done with precision...

HMM...something else for me to ponder (or is that squander confused) my gun budget on.

IIRC there isn't much steel left on the bolt face at all, but I don't recall that its ever been an issue, its all locked in the lugs if something would happen anyway... and of course the case would have to fail on top of that.

I like your thoughts on the quality of the brass for this big boy.
