According to the literature I studied today:
1 minute of arc (angle) subtends 1" at 100 yards. If this is true what is the mean reference for the subtended?
One Minute of Angle is 1.0472" per hundred yards.........
MOA= a unit of angular measurement equal to 1/60th of 1 degree which equals 1.047" per 100 yds of range
RR
Missing the question I think?
basically... 1 inch at 100, 2 at 200 etc....
The difference between 1" per hundred yards and 1 MOA (1.0472" per hundred yards) becomes apparent when shooting at LONG Range and adjusting the turrets to compensate for drop.Adjust a turret 25 MOA for a 1000 yard shot and the adjustment in inches is 261.8 inches of correction. If the scope adjust in inches per hundred yards (and many do) then the corrections is only 250 inches a difference of 11.8 inches, a significant amount of difference.......
