Vortex actually released some PST back in July. Several dozen I'm told, to folks on the pre-orderlist. As it turns out, Vortex was sort using these folks as an adjunct QA team.

Enough bad scopes turned up, that Vortex decided the PST's were not quite ready for prime time. Bully for Vortex.

Now were told that they won't release more until they are 100% right. Right..........

I've had a 4-16 for quite a while now:



After my initial review they decided to shut down production and completely redesign the turrets. They weren't that bad and I know the delay has made lots of people mad but in the end they'll be better scopes.

I'm still optimistic they will provide a great bang for the buck choice as a mid-level scope with all the features people want but generally aren't available on scopes cheaper than $1500-$2000+.

I did end up doing a fair amount of hunting with it and liked it very much. I did end up taping the turrets to keep them from moving and memorized my dope on the reticle to 500 yds. With a nice reticle, that's always an option and being FFP it works at any power.

As soon as the new ones are done I'll be getting a replacement 4-16 for this one as well as a 6-24 so I'll be able to compare/contrast.
