Just got some in this week and anxious to try them out. One rig I have seems to be very sensitive on seating depth for the normal vld design so hoping this one corrects that. Be curious if anyone else has run these and what results were.
Didn't know they came out with them. Better make a trip the the store...
i am running them in a 7saum,,, they were not picky about seating depth,,, there shooting easily 3/8ths moa out to 700 yards,,
took one mule deer buck 457yds just behind shoulder bone, on a broadside shot,, exit hole about 4In,, lots of damage inside, ribs broke on the exit also, waiting for the right shot on some whitetail does,, 700-900 yards hopefully
That sounds really good. Couple of hunts to get out of the way and then hope to try them out.
i couldnt get them to shoot in my remington sendero 7rm.
my buddy has a ruger that shoots them pretty good though
spent some time shooting them thru my 7 rem mag built by SSG , 7828ssc and a fed 215match, 5 shots at 135 yards can be covered by a nickel, shot at 400 yards in the wind 3 shots 1.1" group,,looks like there gonna shoot, i won a few boxes from berger so i ordered a few more boxes, having 4 rifles that shoot .284 projectiles, cant have enough bullets,,,
A friend shot a cow elk with the new Berger hunting hybrid 168 with his 7 Rem mag. Shot was just over 100 yd into lung heart area. He said it dropped to the shot. He remarked the exit hole was not very large but internals were shot to pieces. He was happy with the results.
Any results yet? I've heard that 30338 may be using them, but also curious if anybody else is running them.... Thinking that they might be a little easier to tune?
The Classic hunters are easy to work with..I havent tried the 168 hybrid, but had no luck with the 180 hybrid in my 7mm wby.I'm gonna stick with the classics and stop wasting time/money smile
I believe the Classic Hunters and Hybrid Hunters are the same thing...? At least that's what Midway is telling me.

Have you gotten an accurate BC on them? Seems like .600 would be about right.
Cant say for sure if they are one in the same as I've never seen the 168 hybrid hunter, if so i'd imagine the classic will be missing from bergers future offerings? I run them with the .604 G1 BC and they seem to hold true.
I used the BC that Bryan Litz of Berger assigned them:

168 gr classic hunting hybrid BC .604 (G7) .309 1 in 10 twist
That's good to hear that the BC is holding true. I might just have to try some.
I've got some 308 168 hunting hybrids. I can't get them to shoot because of the long free bore in my factory Remmy. Seating depth of 2.810 puts me .140 from the lands. Damn Remington. I was hoping that they would shoot good at mag length.
I'm shooting Classic/hybrids in four weatherbys,270,7mm,300 and 30-378..no issues and i'm pole vaulting to the lands.. note that NONE of these rifles will shoot VLD's
had a 7mm sendero that i ran 168 .25 off lands shoot quarter MOA at at 100 1.5 moa at .120 off lands but have had guns that do the opposite heres the guideline from berger always used it ... always worked

Load 24 rounds at the following COAL if you are a hunter (pulling a bullet out of the case with your rifling while in the field can be a hunt ending event which must be avoided) or a competition shooter who worries about pulling a bullet during a match:

.010 off the lands (jump) 6 rounds
.050 off the lands (jump) 6 rounds
.090 off the lands (jump) 6 rounds
.130 off the lands (jump) 6 rounds
