Wondering if any of you here on the forum have had the opportunity to shoot Remington's 700 Long Range. I have been toying with the idea of getting one in 30-06 as my all-purpose hunting rifle. Absolutely love the look of the rifle and stock, and the 26" heavy varmint barrel that from what I have heard really shoots well.

Would like to hear any experiences with this rifle setup.
There is a older thread on here about them

This what your looking for?
Who has got them in stock????? The link in the link to buds indicates out of stock for the 30-06

They still exist at big green, just maybe not in the market place:

Buds had them about a week or so ago in both 7mm and 30-06 didn't last long though. I think it was team buds members special only
went cabela's and sportmanswarehouse. no LR 700
I asked the clerk at the local Cabela's to find a 7mag LR before Thanksgiving and he said there were none in the system. That doesn't seem to stop them from advertizing a sale price though.

That is what I'm talking about. I'm familiar with what they have on the website. Now go into your local store or call and see if they have one. Last time I was in there they only had three M700 of any flavor (none LR) in the rack. When I asked him to check the stock nationally to have one brought in, there were no 7mags. Maybe I just got an inexperienced person, but this is not the first time their advertizing matches their stock levels in my experience.

That is an impressive video, and I am not even a huge 700 fan. I think the average Joe hunter and shooter watching that would come away thinking the 700 was about the greatest rifle ever. Remington did a good job with that video.
280 - saw a 300 rum and 25-06 yesterday in az . no 30-06 which is what i want also.
I been looking around haven't seen any you might check gun broker

I've had a 24" VS in my personal safe for a couple of decades now, and the fact that it's still taking up a rack space says that I like it as a shooter, but it would be close to the last one I would pick for an "all-purpose" hunting rifle...and that's out of a field of over 100 better choices including a dozen or so in 30-06...but who's counting?

I had a 700 long range in a 25-06 it shot 1/2" groups sold it
because it was too heavy. am sorry I sold it now. if your
looking for a 30-06 in a long range 700. the OUTDOORSMAN
