Am contemplating buying an RPR to fit under my Kahles 6-24. Problem is the scope needs 34 mm rings and they need to be 13.6mm high for the scope bell to clear the forward Picatinny rail. The highest 2 piece rings I can find are only 12.5mm high. Or I can buy a Spuhr or similar one piece base/rings but the price is way up there! Or I could mill off some of the forward picatinny rail to accommodate the scope, but I'm pretty reluctant to mill in to a brand new rifle. Anybody got any suggestions?
Ruger announced they were making some changes to the RPR that may cure your problem:

To support the Precision Rifle's long range application, its Picatinny rail has 20° of built in elevation to help keep a scope's elevation nearer to a neutral adjustment. The receiver rail is removable and can be changed to a 0 MOA component if desired. The original handguard 12 o'clock rail removal really helps with clearance. Combining the shallow 70° bolt lift and clean handguard, this 30mm tube, 30x scope, with large eyepiece and 58mm objective bell clears with medium height Warne steel rings.

I don't know if they've started shipping the 'new' version yet, but, with the clearance, you may be able to mount your Kahles in some less expensive rings.

change out the handguard......
get a 30 mm tube scope, no need for a 34 mm
The RPR Version 2 has an aluminum hand guard and bolt shroud instead of plastic. They've also removed the picatinny from the hand guard to make it easier to mount a scope with a large objective lens.

It does run $200 more than the original, but probably worth it.

add rings of desired height
easy peasy
Will 1 of the AR height rings not clear the rail. Seems Seekins and others make rings around 1.45".

Swap your 1st gen RPR for a 2nd gen and your scope problem is solved. Seems they listened to people with the same dilemma as yours.

$71 MSRP

Problem solved.
As others have said, change the hand guard. Or, if you don't want to mill yours, used hand guards can be had for cheap. Experiment on a used one.
Just curious is there any online stores have any of the 6.5 Creedmoor in stock
