Anyone running this scope for long range? How does it track and brightness in lowlight? Just curious if this is a decent scope or if I should look at a different scope?

I bought one for long range shooting. Tracking seems to be spot on. Optical clarity is not the best. I tend to start seeing chromatic aberration around 20x causing some milkiness. As far as the reticle, I love it. I went with the SCR Mil reticle. Since I use it for range work, I can't comment on low light transmission. The zero stop is a hard stop. Therefore, once you set zero, there is no going past it which I do not like. This is important as your zero may change with temperature.

The scope is at a decent price point considering you get FFP, lit reticle and zero stop. However, it's no Nightforce or S&B.

They are decent, though there have been issues.


A much better choice is the Bushnell DMR/HDMR or LRHS.

Also for a similar scope as the Burris the SWFA SS HD 5-20x50mm SS is a great scope.

Its no Nightforce or S&B , your right its spelled Burris and a whole lot less expensive. But it works.

I run one with the SCR-MOA reticle on a lowly Tikka CTR in 308. I agree with the other posts, it starts to get milky above 20x unless the day is bright. I had it out yesterday evening deer hunting and I had to back off zoom at 450 yards under tough light conditions.

That being said, I really like this scope and would buy again in a sec. I have run this scope hard at distance in competition (GAP Grind) and it more than held its own (finished top 1/3rd and scope wasn't the limiting factor 😜) against way more expensive setups. Mine tracks great, zero stop is solid as hell, and I really like the SCR reticle. I wouldn't feel cheated with the 4-20x, but I got the 5-25x.

Like others said, its no Nightforce, S&B, Kahles, Vortex Razor, etc. but its also half the price and 90% the performance IMO. If you want to get serious in the PRS world I would look elsewhere.

I got the 4-20 because I didn't want to feel cheated on the extra price....... And size. And bulk. And weight. And unnecessary extra X's.......

I will continue to explore other options but will keep this in mind as a "possible". Not getting into any competitions but wanted some options for long range shooting.
