A little over a year ago I decided to have a complete custom build done around the 280 Ackley IMP. One of the most dificult part of the build for me is deciding who I will hire to perform all the work.

After researching, and calling multiple smiths around the country, I decided to give my business to Eddie Fosnaugh of Fosnaugh custom rifles. I can't recomend Eddie enough. Currently my rifle is on it's way, and judging from the pictures Eddie sent me, it looked very much like I had hoped, and I'm sure it will look even better in person.

Hope Eddie doesn't mind, but I'll add a couple pictures he sent to me.

I look forward to starting load development.

Thanks.
Good looking rifle. I love my 280 AI. Load the heavier bullets, they are straight up killers.

I'm looking at the 162gn ELDX and the 150gn accubond LR...hoping I can get one of the two to behave.
+1 for going with Krieger...

You mean someone else other than krieger makes barrels?

Only joking, I have a Shilen barrel which was installed on a 243 win that shoots good. I have a douglass barrel on a 30-06 which isnt much better than the factory tube it replaced.

Krieger for me has always been a great barrel. Hate their lead time some times. Usually i can find what I'm looking for at bugholes or brunos. That particular barrel came from bugholes.

Nice, rifle.

Eddie does great work. I was shooting my FCR earlier today smile

The nut behind the trigger has managed to muck up a few shots from time to time.
Rifle was waiting for me when I got home. Amazing is the only word that comes to mind.

It's a work of art.

Damn thing looks accurate as hell just sitting there.
Hey BriGuy - just wondering if there's any update on your load development for your 280 Ackley? I'm thinking of building one myself. Is there anything you would do different? I have a sacrificial Rem 700 SPS in 270 that I'm using for the action and I picked up a Krieger barrel, but I haven't chambered it yet. Thanks and sweet rifle...I hope mine comes out looking that good!
