Here is a neat rifle I picked up a few years ago. It's a Winchester m54 with an A.O. Niedner barrel.

The Winchester dates to 1926 and the Niedner barrel to 1927. The marking on the barrel is A.O. Niedner over Dawogiac MICH. The barrel isn't marked for caliber, so I had my gunsmith do a chamber cast. The gun is in 30-06. I hope to hunt with it this season.

Looks like a fun one to take a field, do you know any more about it's history?
No I don't. I sure wish I did though. Since the rifle dates to 1926 and the Niedner barrel to 1927, I like to think the person who originally bought the rifle did so with having the Niedner barrel installed in mind. wink
You can get a repro of that pad.
Cool factor is off the charts!
Cool old rifle. I think it will do its part to get the job done.

Yep! Looks like the early/mid 1960's Redfield Bear Cub 2-7x variable.
