Anybody have a recent pricing on getting the NULA basic conversion done on a CLR? Looking at picking up a rig in 30-06 but would be looking to get the work done.

Also what are your thoughts on the value once that work would be done?
It’s roughly 2K for full conversion with stainless barrel.
Go to the outkast arms web site prices are posted there
Good article that talks about the Colt light rifle I have 2 Forbes LH rifles one went back to Melvin and was re-barreled and redone. Left handers don't have a lot of options!

Go Montucky Twat-Six and never look back. S/S through and through, while being devoid of ANY Fluff. That despite both being VERY trite in COAL latitude, though identical. Hint.

Just sayin'............
Mr. Forbes did a CLR/NULA hybrid for me, just the stock, trigger, and firing pin upgrades, and that was around $900 at that time.

Mr. Forbes told me that SACO's work on the receivers, bolts, and barrels was excellent, while the triggers and stocks weren't up to his ULA standards, but he felt that they were very good given that they were a regular production rifle with a sub-$500 price point.

I have a couple of factory specs CLRs in addition to the CLR/NULA hybrid and don't know if I would spend that money again, as I don't find the factory specs CLR stock objectionable. It is heavier than the NULA stock, but there was no change in accuracy. I have changed out the triggers on my CLRs, but, again, that made no appreciable difference for me.

I have recommended used CLRs to several people who had shot mine and all of them seem to be pleased with their purchase, recognizing that the CLR isn't an ULA/NULA and that they were never designed or intended to compete in that market niche. IMO the CLR is still an above average buy if you can get into one in excellent condition for under $700.
I've got a CLR " Melvinized " ( stock, trigger, firing pin, ) etc, except I left the original barrel ( 7 mag ) on. Shoots lights out. Bought several years ago here on the Fire. 260Remguy was spot on when he said SACO receivers, bolts and barrels were excellent. There are ALWAYS exceptions but for the most part SACO built a decent rifle. The original Colt Light Rifles are getting harder to find and more expensive. Glenn at Outkast Arms ( Melvin's shop ) is really doing a nice job of keeping the Melvinized conversions going. JMOP
