Anyone know how much the wood stock weighs on a Win M70 featherweight? I'm thinking of picking one up and trying to see how much it would weigh with an EDGE, standard McMillan and an HS stock.
The one I just got according to a so so reliable scale weighs 24 oz, but I am second guessing the scale because Rick Bin told me most wood featherweights weigh well over 2 lbs.
The one on my 243 goes an even 2 lbs.
If you're talking pre 64 fwt stocks; mine (5) weigh from 27oz-34 oz. with 3/4" or 1" pad. The 06 fwt that sits in an edge (23oz) with talleys, 3x9x40 leupy and sling sits at 7 lbs. 8 oz. A very nice weight and well balanced rig. Most of my fwts with original wood stocks are somewhere around 8 lbs all up.
Just weighed a SA that has been glassed bedded on a postal scale.
Showed 2lbs 1.2oz or Approx: 33 oz. The edge that replaced it weighs 23oz.
The one on my mid 80s .270 win. weighs in at 25 ounces.

I have a mid-90s 300 Win Mag. The featherweight wood stock weighs 1 lb 11 oz with studs and factory pad.
